He led her to a lightening struck tree at the edge of the dying forest. The once great tree had but a single limb, and he drew her up to rest on it. With signs and sounds he told her, "We are like this forest, this tree, this limb." When she asked what did he mean, he shrugged and said, "We are all that is left." When she asked what would they do, he sighed and said, "Leave." When she asked where would they go, he pointed to the far horizon and said, "There." |
